Appearance: Alec is of average height, standing about 5’9”. He has tousled blue-grey hair that he sometimes spikes, though he usually just lets it flop however it wants. He has naturally olive-tan skin that is sun-resistant and rarely burns. He has a square jaw line that makes him appear stubborn or tough. His nose is ordinary. The rest of him is very much average, with nothing particularly noticeable. He has plain feet, a little bit of ‘manly’ muscle, and hands worn from work. He wears cheap clothing, usually blue jeans and whatever shirt he can find. Generally he is a non-descript man. The one thing people remember about him are his eyes. They are typically a dark navy, though they tend to shift to a lighter shade when he is happy, and almost black when he is upset.
Personality: Alec is a quiet young man. It not that he is shy, he just doesn’t usually have anything to say. He keeps his opinions to himself and often comes across to strangers as cold or indifferent. Alec is more likely to express himself through actions rather than words. He has a small smile and quite chuckle. It isn’t just happy emotions he keeps to himself either. When angry, Alec will keep his emotions inside, ignoring the cause until his frustration builds to the bursting point.
When it comes to pokemon, Alec is desperate to prove himself. His adventure was his way to escape home, and he is very dedicated to his quest. He is attracted to power rather than appearance, and wont hesitate to pass over a what he considers weaker pokemon. He doesn’t abuse his pokemon, but he is strict and expects to be obeyed. Given time he will probably form a close bond with his pokemon, but it would be a treasured emotion he does not share with others. Alec is particularly drawn to flying type pokemon, as his sustaining day dream was one of flying away with nothing but the sky and freedom stretched before him.
History: Alec grew up poor. His parents tried to do everything they could for their family, but working in construction and as a clerk at a pokemart just doesn’t bring in much money. The oldest of 6, Alec was responsible for looking after his younger siblings from the time he was 8.
From the time he was small, Alec envied other children their pokemon. He begged his parents to get him a pokemon, any pokemon, but they told him pokemon were for rich children. Besides, he needed to watch his syblings, and a pokemon would only distract him. Alec resented his parents for that. It didn’t help that the mayor’s son had a spoiled, shiny Pachirisu. The boy knew how much Alec wanted a pokemon, and often teased him about it. He would say things like “Would you like to battle Alec? Oh wait, you need a pokemon for that. All you have are baby brats. Maybe you could ask one of them to pretend to be your pokemon?”
As time passed, he began to dream of freedom. He loved his family dearly, but how wonderful it must be to wander around the region, worrying only about himself. Alec got a job as a farm hand to help support his family, but every pay day he set a little money aside for himself, saving up for his own Pokemon Adventure. His goal is to prove that anyone can be a pokemon trainer, no matter what their background.
